Removing the makeup before becoming a vampire gets rid of the burnt face. There is a bug in the game, that if your character is wearing makeup, then you will get the burnt face bug.
Too bad, since it is an easy and simple way to change an NPC. As I understand it, the limitations of the Skyrim design is such that RaceMenu cannot do the same. The race that it changes you to is a variation of the default races (it doesn't work for custom races) but it has the vampire keywords attached so you can still feed etc. Supporter 10,322 posts The counterpart to RaceMenu, which is LooksMenu on Fallout 4 has that capability. Mortal's Mask also has an option to let you look like a mortal while it is active. I have one setting in my customization menu that allows you to avoid having those you turn change appearance - but this will leave them as their current race and give them vampire abilities. Open the console, click on yourself, and type: setnpcweight 50 (any number from 1-100 will do). Sometimes, if you use a mod that changes appearances you have to reset your 3D model in the game to see changes implemented. Please say yes to have my mod replace any files during installation or it may not work properly. If you want to use an appearance mod, I recommend you install their mod first, and then my mod. I only do a race change and I have not edited the default races or vampire races at all. I don't have any appearance modifications in my mod.
